Southern California Edison
As the largest electric utility in California, Southern California Edison signed a power purchase agreement with eSolar to produce 245 MW of power to boost their renewable energy portfolio and provide clean electricity to Southern California. "eSolar's proposed solar projects promise to be modular, scalable, and easily and rapidly deployed. SCE is excited about the prospects of eSolar's unique solar technology and the potential benefits it can bring for our customers," said Stuart Hemphill, SCE Vice President of Renewable and Alternative Power. "It was a competitively priced proposal. When it comes down to different solar technologies, competitive pricing is going to be an important part of the equation. They do offer a unique solution."

Sundrop Fuels
eSolar signed a commercial contract to supply Sundrop Fuels with its heliostat and sun tracking technology solutions. The multi-million dollar deal leverages eSolar technology for use in a process heat application. "Quite simply, eSolar's modular, pre-fabricated architecture dramatically reduces the price point of harnessing solar energy," said John Stevens, CEO of Sundrop Fuels, a Colorado-based company funded by leading clean technology venture capitalist firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) and Oak Investment Partners. The deal augments eSolar's core solar thermal power plant business model and supports the company's mission of making solar energy cost-competitive with fossil fuel based-energy, such as natural gas, on a global scale.
